This is where the magic happens.

Core members are veterans of the group and/or college alumni that have been active in their local branch and are pillars of their communities. Mentors help guide local activities for their respective branches — often playing leading roles in projects — and cultivate the curiosity and ambition of their members. The Benevolent Dictator For Life (BDFL) is the sole visionary and spokesperson for the whole group, enforcing the three core tenets and spreading the group’s impact across the wider community to attract new talent and gather support for the cause.

The place where it all started, the MIT Manipal and MIT Bengaluru Local Student Chapters (LSCs) have been central to the efforts of the group, serving as role models and trailblazers for future branches to look up to and follow. The MIT Manipal branch leads the charge in outreach and open-source work, focussing on deep-tech projects, while the MIT Bengaluru branch pushes the frontiers of research and works with external entities.
